Barbeques
So with the increased interest in my journal, (Steph(en) both read some of it today), I am posting again. Not that I had stopped or anything, I just haven’t posted for a while so lets have another catch up session kids! I may have posted one of the anecdotes before but with it being a quality story I am going to tell it again! We like barbeques. Barbeques are good! If it wasn’t for my cousin’s barbeque and the tempting aroma of cooking meat (mainly ribs) I may have stayed vegetarian longer years ago. As you should know, I also like walking to Tesco (and riding the Lloyds TSB statue of a horse on the way back). The best Tesco is in Northampton and has self serving tills where you scan your own item and it tells you how much to pay! I will come back to these two things soon but first I am just going to catch you up on InMe and Kirsty’s party.
Neither of the two where that amazing to be honest even though the girls did dress up with plastic devil forks and horns. The veils that came with the horns were quite cool. The highlight of the night was meeting some of Dom’s friends and in particular a girl named LJ. Ironic how I am posting on LJ about LJ! She needed to sit outside the main hall that night so I didn’t see all of InMe’s set but that didn’t really matter. It was a good night and hopefully, if I can get a job at “instore” then I will be working with her. That will be a laugh. But just for the record, I don’t fancy her. I didn’t get off with her either. There was no sluttyness that night and I even managed to have a conversation with Chloe without it being awkward! In contrast to this, after babysitting my brother, I turned up to what my previous post predicted as a slut fest. I didn’t expect to hear about sex in bath tubs from a particular couple and I especially didn’t expect to hear Shelsby’s slut rating was 17 due to her activities with Ed. That’s enough said really. However by the time I got there people were sobering which was good as we stayed up in the garden talking (too loud). At one point I went on a search for the moon. I failed but I found a man loading a van at 3am! Another highlight of the night was the way I was using a non-set up tent as a sleeping bag and so me and Kirsty got into a tent in a tent. Alex Weeler tried eating a small pie through the tent. It didn’t work and it nearly made Kirsty throw up. It was funny though. I think he managed to eat a little. It reminded me of the time me and Kirsty had been in a square made of doors in the city centre and we described it like another dimension. I hugged Kirsty and nobody could see because all around us the doors were closed. How profound does that sound? Also, I gave Kirsty a copy of my album. She is the only person to have listened to it and she claims she liked it.
Now it’s time for anecdotes about the topic in question. Let’s start with Tesco and then get onto the barbeques. Then knowing me I will waffle on about some things that don’t relate to barbeques.
The other night we tried walking to Tesco. We were going to the one in Bletchley. I was texting Priya asking if she wanted to meet up. She said she couldn’t and also told us Tesco was closed. So we waited on a street corner until the police came. We told them we were aiming to get to Tesco but then found it was closed. The following conversation went like so:
Police guy: “So you have the munchies?”
Stephen: “Yes, WAIT-NO-Not-like-that!”
It was funny. They asked where we had been and we said McDonalds which was only half the truth. Before that we had been on the roof of the charity shop next to Morrison’s. The Pillars have silver “decoration” that makes climbing onto the roof so easy. I climbed the steep part and got highest. At the top it dips down a meter and a half but I didn’t drop down because I didn’t know if it would hold my weight. We did find a cool mini football in the gutter.
The story I set out to tell starts at Tesco. It goes like so… This one time at Tesco, we bought a disposable barbeque and some meat.
Last night Tom had his yearly street party with a barbeque. They are never good. I always stay sober and normally end up talking to Tiffany and Kate who are some “weird” girls who always go and normally get drunk and we all cook stuff we don’t really want on the barbeque. The others are drunk so it makes more sense for them to be doing it. I just sort of tag along with it because I don’t want to be bored. I remember one year I ended up lying in some kind of uncooked meat and it made my coat stink. Not nice! This year was similar, except Kate walked off and was being a bitch towards Tiffany saying we were minging skater boys! How “kind”, not! I do not skate thank you very much! My brother does which did nearly break Stuart (my step dad’s arm when he had a go)! The barbeque at the party was alright but the bouncy castle was obviously the best bit as I learnt I could do flips for the first time ever! However after the party, Stephen and Adam let me and Tony use their mopeds to race each other and mess about after driving us to crownhill industry very drunk and playing chicken with parked cars!
So back to my main anecdote, we (Jolyon, Stephen, Tom, Jack and myself – yes I know that “myself” should be an “I” but I like the sound of it the way it is) took our barbeque to Wolverton station which is conveniently close to Tesco. There were no trains running the day we were there, which was convenient as we lit our barbeque and ate our meal on the platform. It wasn’t long before we had passing cars shouting at us and later the fire brigade turned up, moving our barbeque about 3 meters from the platform onto the car park where it was apparently more legal. That shows how stupid our laws are. Jolyon quickly made friend with the fire brigade people and so we got in no trouble. All in all that was the best barbeque I have ever had though so it’s all good!
Speaking of things all being good, over the next week my plans include Learning Kung fu with Aidan (taught by the wisdom filled Liam), finding a place for my Berko all nighter with Steph, going to the cinema with Lucy and Amy and paintballing with Kez (an ex-step bro). I think this justifies my excitment which I am putting as my mood for this post!
